Product Description

1. Overview of Equipment Main Functions:

This test equipment is multifunctional and can be used to simulate corrosion tests in artificial environments, examining the comparative quality of metal materials with or without corrosion protection methods. It is suitable for conducting corrosion tests to quickly analyze discontinuities, voids, and damage in organic and inorganic coatings. Additionally, for quality control purposes, it can be used to compare samples coated with the same paint. Salt spray testing is particularly suitable for detecting discontinuities in certain metals, organic coatings, anodized coatings, and conversion coatings, such as pinholes and other defects. It can also be used to accelerate the corrosion process during outdoor exposure periods by spraying chloride salt spray onto the surface gaps of samples.

1. Neutral Salt Spray Test (NSS): Applicable to metals and their alloys, metal coatings (anodic and cathodic), conversion coatings, anodized coatings, and organic coatings on metal materials.

2. Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (AASS): Particularly suitable for testing decorative coatings of copper + nickel + chromium or nickel + chromium. It has also been found to be suitable for testing anodic coatings of aluminum.

3. Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (CASS): Applicable to testing decorative coatings of copper + nickel + chromium or nickel + chromium. It has also been found to be suitable for testing anodic coatings of aluminum.

4. Intermittent Salt Spray Test (Chamber Test): Mainly used in the automotive industry to study similar test methods developed for sub-film corrosion caused by splashing sand and gravel damage to the surface of steel plates covered with all coatings. The Chamber Test is also suitable for testing various substrates with or without coatings, with some substrates exhibiting a pitted appearance after testing, while others may not.

Note: Due to various factors affecting the corrosion process, such as the formation of protective films and variations in encountered conditions, there is rarely a direct relationship between resistance to salt spray and resistance to other media. Therefore, test results obtained cannot serve as direct guidelines for the corrosion resistance performance of tested metal materials in all applicable environments. Similarly, the performance of different materials in tests cannot serve as direct guidelines for their corrosion resistance performance in use.

7. Structural Features 7.1. Chamber Structure Layout: Surface spray treatment, Inner chamber: imported PVC polyethylene plate (Nanya, Taiwan), thickness 8mm; Outer chamber: imported PVC polyethylene plate (Nanya, Taiwan), thickness 5mm; Sealing cover: transparent PVC polyethylene plate (Nanya, Taiwan), thickness 8mm; Supplementary reagent bottle: hidden with water level gauge for easy cleaning and not easy to break. Pressure air tank: made of SUS304# stainless steel for optimal high-pressure tank insulation. Test material rack: flat indexing rack, sample placement angle 20±5°, with more samples placed Sealing cover: driven by cylinder, only need to click the box cover lifting button to open or close the box cover Chamber sealing: water sealing to ensure no leakage of corrosive gas in the box Water-electric separation structure to prevent water from entering the electrical control box and damaging components Desktop structure for aesthetic appearance Bottom of the box: installed with movable casters and positioning cup feet, convenient for movement and positioning; Control box and test box are integrated for convenient operation
7.2. Box Cover: The chamber sealing cover is made of transparent PVC polyethylene plate (Nanya, Taiwan), thickness 8mm, made into a 100° angle sealing cover to effectively prevent condensed water from dripping onto the sample surface and affecting the test results
7.3. Spray Tower: To ensure uniformity of spraying and spray volume without occupying space, this equipment uses air atomizing nozzles to finely atomize salt water, which then enters the conical spray tower and is evenly distributed into the test space; the height of the spray tower is adjustable to achieve precise control of the spray volume. The spray tower is installed in the center line position of the front and rear directions of the test area, with one spray tower placed on each side
7.4. Spray Volume Collector: Installed indoors, with a diameter of 100mm conical funnel to monitor the size of spray volume in real time. A silicone hose is installed at the bottom of the funnel, connected to the outdoor measuring cylinder, to monitor the size of spray volume in real time and ensure the test accuracy of test samples. There are 2 collectors,
The installation location is located in the test area close to the sample. The distance between the lower surface and the inner wall of the equipment is about 170mm.
